Turn In Bin

I’m not sure if I shared this before on my blog, but one thing that has really helped me this year is my Turn It In Here bin.

I’ve done shelves and baskets for each class, but they didn’t really work that well in my classroom. Having this one basket on top of my desk is PERFECT. It is always on the corner of my desk, which is fine because I don’t have much of anything else on my desk {I HATE CLUTTER}.

Any time a student needs to turn something in, they know exactly where to go. I don’t  let them hand anything to me because I will ultimately set it down somewhere and forget about it. Also, I like having one basket.  I’m not sure why I like it better than having 5 (one for each class), but I do prefer the one! Plus it’s colorful and pretty, which is mandatory in my classroom. 🙂

Yesterday and today were records days, so I had some extra time to get some grades done and clear out my ‘turn it in here’ bin. Which was great because grades are due for the end of the quarter! One of the things I had to grade were test corrections. I found this at the top:

My students make me laugh. I have to laugh or I’d cry! I’m sure everyone knows that feeling! 🙂  Test corrections were suppose to be done on a separate sheet of paper, but this student forgot and just made a “key” at the top to let me know which writing was ‘corrections…kind of.”

Just for the heck of it, I must to share pictures of my doggies:

My husband is ridiculous and ‘tucked’ the dog into the bed. Not happy about that, but it is a cute picture!
